Final Expense Telesales: 3 Cs to perfection

Obviously, to become great at final expense telesales, you must be a master on the telephone.
Cody Askins, CEO of Secure Agent Leads, says there are three Cs to phone perfection.
Let’s take a look at what they are and how you can achieve them.

Three Cs to master final expense telesales

If you really thought about it, you could probably figure out what these three Cs are.
However, if you haven’t yet, here they are:

  1. Confidence
  2. Charisma
  3. Control

You’ve probably heard a manager or mentor talk about each of these at one point but let’s dive into why these are important.

Confidence

It’s probably the most important trait in an insurance sales agent.
Being confident in your ability to get what you want is huge.
A sale is made when you believe that you are going to close the sale more than the prospect believes you won’t.

Charisma

So, let’s say your insurance lead says this:

“Dude, I’m not interested.”

It’s going to take charisma to figure out what to say on the fly and shake it off.
You only get charisma after a lot of time on the phone.

Control

You’ll have better results, hands-down, when you are in control of the situation on the phone.
This means being in control of

  • The conversation
  • Your pitch and knowing what you’ll say
  • Yourself (voice, tonality, and etc.)

Staying in control of the conversation is easier when you are asking questions and choosing the direction of the call.
Your pitch will be more under control the more practice you get with it.
Keeping yourself under control also takes practice but there are some tricks like watching yourself in the mirror to see if you’re smiling or standing up when you talk to give yourself more energy.
